Vikings, this is your reality.

After another loss last night and some mind-boggling throws by quarterback Brett Favre, Minnesota Vikings fans have to be thinking what exactly has happened to this season? Where did it all go wrong? Well we have a theory, and to try and explain it to you we need to reference one of the great movie series of all-time, Back to the Future. This was supposed to be the year where everything came together for the Vikings, ending in Dallas with a Super Bowl triumph. However, it seems what was supposed to be has careened off into an alternate 2010, where the triumph has been replaced with personal strife and in-fighting. We have diagramed what exactly has happened to the Vikings, Doc Brown style below:

Retirement Gone Wrong: Brett Favre and Urban Meyer

Check out the parallels between Vikings quarterback Brett Favre and University of Florida head coach Urban Meyer.

Tale of the Tape:

-Retired after losing NFC championship game to Saints.
-Retired after losing SEC championship game to Alabama.

-Favre’s Vikings were beaten in rematch with Saints 14-9.
-Meyer’s Gators were beaten in rematch with Alabama 31-6.

-Favre’s Vikings are 2-3 overall.
-Meyer’s Gators are 2-3 in the SEC.

-Favre’s consecutive start streak (now at 290 games) could be in jeopardy if he is found to have violated NFL’s personal conduct policy for alleged texts and photos sent to a former Jets employee.
-Meyer’s Gators streak of 89 straight weeks being ranked in the Associate Press Top 25 poll ended after a 10-7 loss versus Mississippi State this past weekend.

-Percy Harvin bailed out Favre and the Vikings in a win over Dallas yesterday with a 95 yard kickoff return for a touchdown.
-Urban Meyer would give anything to replace Chris Rainey with Percy Harvin.

-Favre’s Vikings play archrival Packers this weekend with chance to get back to .500 and in the playoff hunt.
-Meyer’s Gators play archrival Georgia this weekend and still control their destiny in SEC East.
